Around 12 people were killed and 13 other injured, after a stampede occurred at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra, Jammu on January 1. The injured have been taken to Naraina Hospital after the rescue. <br /><br />“12 dead in the stampede at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. Casualties from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and 1 from Jammu and Kashmir; more details awaited. Injured being taken to Naraina Hospital after rescue,” said Dr Gopal Dutt, Block medical officer, Community health.
